RARE IN TIMES SQUARE (Feb 2023)
When you’re living with a rare disease, being seen matters. For Rare Disease month of February 2023, H4B Boston and HH&Y partnered with Beyond the Diagnosis to put faces to some of the world’s rarest diseases on one of the world’s most viewed screens. We featured original portraits of 105 children, including a dozen Rare Angels. Five, 20-second videos appeared on a Times Square Jumbotron, reaching over 4.4 million viewers. The event was promoted on all major social platforms including Tik Tok. 105 individual posts were created to be shared within each disease-specific community. It was the most visible Rare Disease event ever. As one mother posted on Instagram: “My daughter was scared of school. But when she saw her face on Times Square, she couldn’t wait to show her class. She’s like a new child.” Metrics available shortly.
